Civil rights activists cry "Unfair!" when
they see government more responsive
to the upper and middle classes than to the poor.
What these activists fail to see - or
conveniently overlook - is the fact that in a democracy,
politicians respond first to those who elect them.
If the poor voted, which they have the inalienable right to do,
politicians would respond to their needs.
But they don't, so politicians won't.
